Alan buys four more youngsters at Guineas Breeze-Up Sale
Alan, celebrating another mile and a half success with the improving filly Tronada at Chepstow yesterday, bought four more two-year-olds at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale at Park Paddocks, so, all in all, it was a very successful Thursday.
In tandem with Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock, Alan outbid David Redvers to secure the top lot at the sale, an Excelebration colt who set them back a cool 140,000gns.
Buying for Max McNeill and Niall Farrell, the Excelebration impressed Alan and Anthony as an individual, with the latter reflecting:”He was our favourite horse in the sale. He has size and scope, and, though we did not expect to have to go so high, he did clock an impressive time in his breeze, which obviously affected the price.”
The pair also joined forces when snapping up a Sea The Stars colt for 50,000gns, a Mukhadsram filly for 38,000gns and a colt by The Last Lion for 30,000gns.
They’ll need no reminding that Tritonic, runner-up in last month’s Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot, was also a Breeze-Up purchase, which keeps the dream very much alive.
