And we are back at Kempton tomorrow
December 26, 2017
We have the versatile Lexington Law switching back to the Flat to run on the tapeta surface at Wolverhampton tomorrow, but that apart the Barbury focus is very much on Kempton again, with five runners declared.
Alan said:”The Unit learned to settle last season and signed off with an excellent third in a Grade 1 at Aintree. He has run two solid races since returning from his summer break and ran a smashing race when third to the smart Willoughby Court in early November, so, hopefully, he’ll build on that in the Wayward Lad.
“Redicean makes his debut for us in the opening juvenile hurdle. We bought him out of David O’Meara’s yard at the Horses-in-Training Sales, and, having had him gelded, we schooled him for the first time on the grass recently, and we are looking forward to getting him started.
Midnight Tour goes for the mares handicap hurdle, and as she has topweight we are making good use of the claim of our good conditional Kevin Dowling. She ran well in similar grade over the course and distance last month.
“We have two runners for the concluding two-mile handicap hurdle. We have been repeatedly thwarted by attempts to give Chatez his first run over jumps for almost three years. He still has an awful lot of ability and ran an excellent race on the Flat at Leicester, but, while a drop more rain would suit him, the more the ground improves the better the chance of our other runner Azzerti.”
