Dickens aims to build on Tronada’s Bath victory yesterday
Well, I hope you all backed Tronada, who duly got Alan’s Flat train rolling again at Bath yesterday when winning at 12-1, much to the delight of the Barbury Lions (5) syndicate.
Part-owner Colin Mackenzie who was driving back from a short break in Scotland, tells me that he was so taken by the encouraging vibes being posted on the site about Tronada, who has now won three of her last four races, that he put on his betting boots and even missed his breakfast to snap up a bit of 25-1.
Fingers crossed we can continue September as we started as we have Dickens running at Salisbury today and Hotter Than Hell over hurdles this evening at Southwell.
Dickens, who topped the recent Breeze-Up sale at Newmarket at 140,000gns, will be sharper for his debut at Newbury, where Alan was pleased how he shaped on ground which would be plenty soft for him first time out.
Hotter Than Hell reappears after a lengthy absence, not having run since she finished second at Ludlow in her first handicap back in February. It will be good to see her return to action.
And tomorrow we have On To Victory and Oasis Dream newcomer Letmelivemylife running at Ascot and Tincho having her third run at Kempton.
On To Victory was having his first race since he fell over hurdles in March when finishing third in a competitive handicap at York last month, so he’ll be sharper at Ascot where he runs off the same mark and warrants plenty of respect.
