Dunkerron stepping up in grade at Newbury
Fingers crossed Alan has unveiled a smart two-year-old in Dunkerron, who was impressive when defying his penalty at York last week-end, making it two wins from just three races.
“The penalty worried me, but he looked very professional and we’ll now look to step him up in grade, with a Listed race at Newbury in the back of my mind,” said Alan.
We have three runners at Kempton tomorrow, including Just In Time, who returns from his winter holiday in the two-mile handicap.
Three wins last season included one over this course and earned him a 22lb rise in the ratings, but obviously after a 240-day absence he’ll improve for this comeback run on what is his first attempt beyond a mile and a half.
Inn The Bull runs in the 12-furlong handicap there, and three of his four wins on the Flat have come on the all-weather, one on this polytrack surface at Kempton, so, hopefully, he’ll bounce back to form, while Sukalia is the latest Barbury youngster to be launched in the EBF Fillies Novice.
