We focus on the all-weather this week-end

Most of the Barbury team are on a break, having undergone the flu vaccination last week, but, though the jumpers have to school on the all-weather as the grass gallops are too firm, we are still hopeful of a winner this week-end.

We have a couple of runners at Taunton on Saturday, but, while Big Chief Benny wants rain, there are no worries about ground for either Nylon Speed, in action on the polytrack at Kempton today, or Redicean, who runs in the 12f handicap on the same surface at Lingfield tomorrow.

Alan said:”Nylon Speed is 2-2 on the all-weather and since we fitted him with a tongue-tie he has thrived. He won well at Lingfield last time, but he has also scored at Kempton so, though up another 5lb to a mark of 75, he is in very good order.

“Redicean has also been a revelation since we switched him back to the Flat from hurdles. He is on a hat-trick, having won here and at Wolverhampton, and, though he is 8lb higher than for last month’s course success, he was impressive there and his confidence is sky-high.”
