We are at Haydock and Lingfield today
With Gavi di Gavi having bruised a foot, we now have just the three runners today, Duke of Condicote and Alargedram at Haydock and Tronada at Lingfield.
Duke of Condicote has been well backed in the offices this morning, and the fact that the ground has dried out overnight at Haydock enhances his prospects, according to Alan.
He said:”Duke of Condicote was favourite for his final start last year at Nottingham, but he didn’t seem to enjoy the really heavy ground, so it’s good to know that underfoot conditions have improved.
“He showed a bit of promise in his first season, despite being quite weak and leggy, but he has grown into himself through the winter. He’s also been gelded, which might help as he was a bit of a playboy and is now behaving much better.”
There is still enough cut in the ground at Haydock to suit Alargedram in the mile and a quarter handicap, and Alan added:”He has also been gelded, and he, too, showed promise in his first season. He is a great big horse and those three runs did him good, and, like Duke of Condicote, Alargedramalso did well physically through the winter.”
Tronada is back on the Flat, having finished in the frame three times over hurdles during the winter.
