The stable staff in the horsebox carrying The Tourard Man to Worcester tomorrow for the opening novice chase should have him washed down and on the way back to Barbury by the time the blue-bloods of Flat racing are heading to the start for the £1.45m Derby at Epsom.

Assessing The Tourard Man’s prospects, Alan, delighted that Miss Crick won again at Ffos Las yesterday, albeit having only to jump three hurdles, said:”The Tourard Man is reverting to fences, having recaptured his sparkle when winning over hurdles at Exeter and Warwick, and this is his first run over the larger obstacles since he took an early fall at Doncaster in January.

” Hopefully, those two victories have restored his confidence, and he has been schooling fine, and not being a winner over fences yet, he receives 6lb from the penalised likely market-leaders.”
