Last week-end’s monsoons has made it a frustrating week, but, following five places from eight runners, we were back in the number one spot with Mia’s Storm at Uttoxeter on Thursday.

Happily, the dried up sufficiently for Mia’s Storm, who produced all her old sparkle and clearly appreciated being back over the smaller obstacles.

Mia’s Storm has twice been on the floor over fences, in a Grade 1 at Kempton’s Christmas meeting and a Grade 2 at Ayr’s Scottish National fixture in April, but, having summered well, this smart staying hurdler could not have won with more authority, and that clear round will have done her confidence the world of good.
