Rock solid bumper performance
A large team of horses were worked this morning and despite the wet weather we had overnight we were still only able to use the all-weather gallop, it will take a little bit of time for the rain to have a significant effect on the going.
We were represented by 3 runners at Bangor on Tuesday afternoon, all running with mixed fortunes. Fred Le Macon was running a solid race until a small blunder at the 6th hurdle resulted in our conditional jockey Kevin Dowling losing his irons, and despite doing well to stay on the horse and recovering from the incident it sadly scuppered any chance of Kevin riding his first winner for the boss, eventually finishing a 19 length 3rd.
Precision Five was unfortunate in her efforts in the novice hurdle, when going down to the jump the second hurdle she was unsighted at her obstacle forcing a bad blunder and heavy unseat for Wayne. The mare seemed non the worse for this and had a good gallop round the course and came back to the unsaddling enclosure in no worse condition than when she had left the parade ring.
Our final runner of the day was Criq Rock in what a looked a competitive bumper. Having only his second run of his career, his first being in the DBS Spring Sales Bumper where he finished a creditable 6th. Despite there being an honest gallop in yesterdays contest he pulled very hard throughout, Wayne took the horse to the front 2 furlongs out and powered away from the field under a hands and heels ride winning impressively by 11 lengths.
The entries board is looking busy for the remainder of the week, so watch this space for the news !!
