Sore Heads On Sunday
It has been another great week at the stables, with a good number of horses schooling both Monday and Thursday and the whole team working well. Thankfully due to plenty of rainfall in the days leading up to our schooling mornings we were able to get a good number of the team schooling on the grass both over hurdles and fences. It is great to finally be able to get the chasers jumping the bigger obstacles and although we have a had a few dry days here it hopefully will not hinder our schooling regime.
Many of the runners have continued to show good form, with all 5 horses running at Chepstow over the weekend having their first run of the season, they should all improve for their outings and it was great to get them back on the racecourse.
Of course the highlight of the week has to be Grumeti’s performance in the Cesarewitch, a hugely prestigious prize to collect and was fitting that it was won by one our most durable, courageous and long serving stalwarts of the yard. He is a credit to the McNeill family and I feel privileged I was at Newmarket to witness his awesome display.
With plenty of entries for the upcoming week and the yard in good form, we will hopefully have plenty more reasons to celebrate !
