We are looking forward to our “night out at the local”

Fingers crossed we escape the thunderstorms that are supposed to be heading our way, because we are planning a pleasant Thursday night at the races at our local Newbury track, and if either Jim Dandy or Giveaway Glance provide us with a winner the evening will go with an even bigger swing.

Alan said:”Jim Dandy was beaten less than two lengths by the winner, despite finishing only sixth over the course a fortnight ago, and he looked that day as he if he wanted going back up to this mile and a quarter, so, hopefully, he’ll be competitive in what looks a tight little handicap.

“Giveaway Glance ran a stormer on her comeback after more than eight months off when finishing second at Sandown last time, so one would think that she might improve a bit for that, in which case she could well be a player in the mile fillies handicap.”

We also have Royal Plaza running in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Worcester, and Alan added:”He shaped with a lot of promise in his first handicap there a couple of weeks ago, having previously been in the frame in two maiden hurdles, so off the same mark he should run well.”
