Mia’s Storm made an excellent winning debut over fences on Sunday – “I think she’s pretty good, but she’s best fresh and doesn’t want deep ground, so we won’t be in any rush” observed Alan afterwards – and that victory was a timely reminder that Alan is the subject for today’s Racing Post Stable File. Don’t miss it.
Meanwhile, we have four runners today at Huntingdon, which has often proved such a happy hunting ground for Barbury. Both Cajun Fiddle and Dingo Dollar make their debut over fences, with Alan commenting:”Cajun Fiddle is a big, strong mare who will go down the novice route, and we have been happy with her schooling, as we have Dingo Dollar, who runs in the three-mile novice”.
We also have Inn The Bull defending his unbeaten record over fences in the opener – “he had a wind operation before Worcester, where he won so well” – and French recruit Desiremoi d’Authie having his first run for us in the Tiggy Wiggy colours in the two-mile novice hurdle. He was an impressive bumper winner in his homeland and has been showing plenty of pace on the gallops in the mornings, so, hopefully, he can make a winning start.
