Alan has been suffering from flu these last few days, so he is hoping that the two favourites that represent us at Towcester today will provide him with a timely pick-me-up.

He said:”William H Bonney sets the standard in the opening novice hurdle. He won on his jumping debut at Plumpton and then ran a cracker to be second in an introductory hurdle at Newbury after Christmas. He travelled extremely well and looked like winning going to the last, but he was giving the winner 5lb and they pulled nine lengths clear of the rest, so it was a very pleasing effort. He has enjoyed a nice break since and has been in good form at home.

“Our other runner is Laser Light in the bumper. He is an ex-Irish point-to-pointer who is having his first run for us, and his forte looks to be stamina, so this stiff track should be ideal for him.”
