And we are also at two meetings on Sunday
Saturday January 2
Chelmsford deserve great credit for coming up with excellent prize money for Sunday’s programme – no race carries less than £5,000 added money and the feature race, the £30,000 ten-furlong handicap, is one we hope to have a big say in, courtesy of Henry Ponsonby’s First Mohican.
Alan said:”First Mohican can be unpredictable, but he did nothing wrong at Wolverhampton last time, winning well on the tapeta. However, he seems equally happy on the polytrack surface and he has been in good order at home, so, hopefully, he’ll be a player here.”
We also have two going down to Plumpton, and Alan added:”We launch another of JP’s (McManus) down there, Herewego Herewego. He is a big chasing type so rather than starting him off in a bumper we are going for a novice hurdle. It will be good to get him started.
“Minella Charmer goes for an EBF Qualifier. He ran very well when chasing home Born Survivor, a highly-rated horse of Dan Skelton’s, at Warwick, and the experience of that hurdling debut should stand him in good stead.”
