Today is a filthy day – strong winds and torrential rain – but the forecast is for it improve through the week and Alan has declared two runners for Warwick tomorrow, Fields of Fortune in the juvenile hurdle and Beneagles in the staying handicap hurdle.

Alan said:”Fields of Fortune was shaping with a lot of promise when he unseated his rider at the final flight on his jumping debut there in November, and that form has worked out exceptionally well, with the winner, We Have A Dream, having gone on to land the Grade 1 Finale Hurdle at Chepstow, while the third and fourth have both each won twice since.

“Fields of Fortune pulled some muscles and took a week or two to come sound, which is why we haven’t seen him since, but he is ready to go again now and he also has Flat form in soft ground which is encouraging in the light of the current weather.

“Beneagles has been in good form and ran well to finish fifth at Newbury’s Hennessy meeting, so, hopefully, he’ll also be competitive.”
