Henry Ponsonby will be hoping for Cheltenham success with Who Dares Wins at Cheltenham next week in the Triumph Hurdle, but he’ll be grateful to net a tasty £19,000 catch on the Flat at Wolverhampton today with First Mohican in the Coral Handicap.

Alan said:”First Mohican’s only previous trip to Dunstall Park resulted in a victory back in December. He ran well off this mark when runner-up at Lingfield last time, and, following a two months break, he is raring to go again. He has top weight, but it is a decent prize, Tom Queally knows him well and the tapeta surface holds no fears for our horse.”

And tomorrow we run The Mumper in the two miles and three furlongs handicap chase at Exeter. Alan said:”It was great to see The Mumper come back to winning form at Market Rasen last month – I was so pleased for the owners (The Weighed In Partnership) as they have been very patient after the horse broke down a couple of years ago. He is now 5lb higher but should again be competitive.”
