Medinas on comeback trail at Sandown

Inevitably, we were going to be quieter this week than last – we had 16 runners during two days at the end of last week, culminating with that never-to-be-forgotten five-timer – but everyone at Barbury is looking forward to our one and only runner tomorrow, Medinas who carries topweight in the Grade 3 staying handicap hurdle at Sandown.

Our conditional Willie Featherstone will help offset that heavy burden with his 7lb allowance, and Alan said:”Medinas has not run since the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot 14 months ago so will obviously come on for the run, but he is ready to start back.

“He has been a grand servant and I always stressed that the moment we weren’t happy with his legs we would retire him, but at present he is showing us enough to warrant continuing, and it will be good to see him back on the track.”
