After a week of solid results it was great to get more of the string out racing throughout the week and into the weekend. Ted’s Lad had his first run of the season in another bumper at Southwell, running well and eventually finishing 5th having a good blow afterwards. A big strong horse by Kayf Tara his next run will be over hurdles and will be seen to better effect in that sphere.
Our first runner of the weekend was Turn Over Sivola at Cheltenham in the 2m handicap chase. Eventually finshing 5th but running a smashing race, he had a good blow after the race and there is now the option of potentially stepping him up in trip. It was however, a great start to his campaign this season and there is certainly a big race victory in him.
Karezak followed up in the Masterson Holdings Hurdle, in what was a good renewal he found only Devilment too good for him going down by three quarters of a length. This was an especially pleasing performance considering he had ran such a good race at Chepstow just two weeks before this contest. He showed great determination and grit and although there is an option to stepping him up in trip over hurdles, the plan is now to go chasing with him, a discipline we are sure he will enjoy great success in.
McCabe Creek and Cahill were our representatives at Wincanton on Sunday, Jamie Insole one of our young conditionals had been doing a great job with McCabe at home teaching him to settle and find a rhythm and that was mirrored in yesterdays performance. He was a lot more relaxed than he had been in previous efforts and it was great to see the horse run a solid race, eventually finishing 3rd beaten only 1 length, it won’t be long before he wins his race.
Tomorrow we have three runners at Bangor and Kevin Dowling, one of our stable Conditionals is booked to ride Fred Le Macon. It’s his first ride as a Conditional and for the boss. Good luck Kevin !
We have plenty of entries for the coming days and are hopeful of a successful week.
