You would always prefer to be drawn low on the round course at Goodwood – even in the longer races – though starting from one of the inside stalls means it is essential to break well to prevent getting caught up in the early bunching, so Fergus Sweeney will be keen to get away smartly from the two box on Cosmeapolitan in the 11-furlong handicap there tomorrow, the finale on day four of the ‘Glorious’ meeting.
Alan said:”Cosmeapolitan is uncomplicated in that he goes on any ground. He has been very consistent and ran another solid race at Windsor last time, striking the front at the two-pole but being worn down in the last 200 yards. This handicap looks hugely competitive, but, hopefully, he will again run well.”
We also have a couple going off to Bangor tomorrow. Worcester runner-up Precision Five tries to go one better, and, being by Presenting, we’d hope that Presenting Lisa will appreciate this better ground than that which she has encountered recently when she runs in the two-mile handicap chase.
