One Cool Dreamer goes for the hat-trick in the finale at Newbury tonight
One Cool Dreamer is looking like an exciting young prospect, and, though he is climbing up the weights, he ought to be in with a chance of clocking up his third consecutive victory in a month in the finale at Newbury tonight.
Bought at last year’s Breeze-Up Sales at Newmarket’s Craven meeting for 70,000gns, One Cool Dreamer, who was a May foal, showed promise in three runs as a juvenile before being gelded last winter.
On his return One Cool Dreamer, whose owners are The Maple Street Partnership, again showed promise in three handicaps in the spring and early summer.
With the official assessor also giving him a chance when dropping him a few pounds in July, One Cool Dreamer, down a grade but stepping up in trip, was able to open his account at Windsor.
Three weeks later Alan moved One Cool Dreamer back up in grade for a better race at Newmarket, and he showed a willing attitude to put the race to bed in the last half-furlong. So he might well be capable of defying another 4lb rise by completing the hat-trick on our local course this evening.
Troy Story is a laid-back Ulysses two-year-old who caught my eye on the carpet gallop in early July, and the Henry Ponsonby syndicate will be hoping that he has learned from his first run in what looked a decent novice at Sandown a month ago when he returns to the Esher course tomorrow.
