The Huntingdon track will suit Finest View tomorrow
May 7
Finest View, who spent much of the winter back at David and Kathleen Holmes’s Pitchall Farm Stud in Warwickshire, returns to action under topweight in the two-mile handicap chase at Huntingdon tomorrow.
The stud will have been pleased with the hurdling debut of stablemate Sharp Glance at Warwick on Monday, and, with Barbury back in the winner’s enclosure at Worcester yesterday, courtesy of Ernest Gray, who won at 14-1 on his first attempt since undergoing wind surgery, hopes will be high for Finest View.
Five times successful over hurdles, Finest View, who showed smart form in the spring last season, has taken to chasing well, and the sharp Huntingdon track should suit the mare, who has jumped well on her two runs over the larger obstacles so far.
We have two runners on Friday, and Lola Moon, who was beaten less than two lengths when a highly promising fifth on her debut at Newbury last month, is interesting in the one mile novice at Nottingham’s evening meeting,
Earlier in the day. Troy Story, who showed promise in three races last season, has his first run since being gelded in the one mile handicap for three-year-olds at Ascot. Kieran Shoemark takes the mount.
