We are looking forward to Ski Lodge’s hurdling debut at Ffos Las on Sunday
Alan was pleased with his bumper horses last winter and hopes several of them will do well in novice hurdles this season, and they include Ski Lodge, who makes his jumping debut at Ffos Las on Sunday.
Former jockey Noel Fehily thinks the world of Ski Lodge and hopes he’ll do well for his syndicated members, and both Alan and Noel were delighted how much promise he showed in his first season.
Alan said:”Ski Lodge is a fine, big horse who won a bumper at Chepstow but then scoped badly, and by the time we got him right again the ground had gone against him.
“He has schooled very well and the more the ground eases at Ffos Las the happier I’ll be. We are starting him off over two and a half miles, but he’ll get three and could be a decent novice.”
We also run Top Kap for Noel’s team in the two and a half mile handicap hurdle. Alan added:”It was not easy for Top Kap last season as he fractured his tibia which held him up, but we did manage to get him out and he is now qualified for handicaps. Fingers crossed he’ll show us something, and he is another fine, big horse who should be even better when he goes over fences.”
