Tom Bellamy’s winning run goes on, and our stable jockey was in double form for Barbury at Hereford today, taking his tally since last Saturday to seven.

Granny Hawkins repeated her victory over the course in November with another convincing success off a 6lb higher mark in the two-mile handicap hurdle, while Seven Stars, all the rage for the finale, proved another bumper winner for the stable when powering clear of the opposition up the home straight.

Bellamy, relishing his promotion this season, said:”I knew I had some good rides, but you never take things for granted at this game, so I would have been happy with one winner but am chuffed to be able to go home with two.

“Granny Hawkins loves it here and won well again, while Seven Stars did everything the wrong way round at Ludlow last time, but on this occasion switched off well for the first mile and really deserved her victory. ”

Alan will be hoping for more celebrations at Warwick tomorrow, when he rides three fancied horses for Alan, King Al, who is looking to supplement recent Ludlow gains in the novice hurdle, Irish Chorus, who attempts to get back on track in the mares handicap chase,  having found one too good at Taunton last time, and bumper newcomer Wyrley Birch, a half-brother to the money-spinning Edwardstone.
