Diva could take centre stage at Nottingham

Plenty of attention will be given to the second day of the Spring Trials Meeting at Newbury for potential Classic clues, however a trip to Nottingham on the same day potentially beckons for Betfred 1000 Guineas entry Deedaydiva.

The daughter of  Churchill, who posted an impressive victory at Sandown Park on her final start last season, could make her eagerly awaited comeback in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.

And while Alan insists plans remain fluid as to Deedaydiva’s potential Classic aspirations he is looking forward to getting the Lynne Maclennan and John Murray-owned filly back on the track for what he hopes will be the beginning of a fruitful campaign.

Alan said: “Hopefully we will get the likes of Alcarath and Insanity out over the next ten days, but we might go to Nottingham with Deedaydiva on Saturday for a novice fillies’ stakes under a penalty.

“She was great on her last start at Sandown Park last season, but want to get her out and see where we are at. I’m happy with her progress, but she is only just ready to start.

“This would bring her nicely forward for whatever we do next.”
