Alan will be at Cheltenham on Friday to see the much-anticipated reappearance of The Glancing Queen in the tw0-mile handicap chase.

Assessing our chances of a celebration, Alan said:”The Glancing Queen showed that two miles around there is the perfect trip when winning a mares race over the course in the spring.

“I wasn’t convinced that The Glancing Queen truly stayed the two and a half when beaten by L’Homme Presse in the Dipper Chase at the New Year meeting, and she again tired up the hill when trying the longer trip at the Festival.

“However, I loved the way she powered through the line when dropping back to two miles in April, albeit in a lesser race, and, though we’d have no worries about the two and a half on a sharper track, at Cheltenham this is perfect.

“There is no doubt that The Glancing Queen, who will be aimed at all the top mares races this winter, is a class act and even with topweight she has to have a big chance.”

Our other Friday runner is Tying the Knot at Southwell. where he makes his jumping debut in the Juvenile Hurdle.

Tying the Knot has been gelded since he last ran on the Flat, where he has been disappointing. But he has always worked like a good horse at home, and Alan is hoping that a switch in codes might work the oracle.
