Kitty secures purrfect result at Newton Abbot
Kitty’s Glance was rewarded for her consistency at Newton Abbot on Monday when running out a convincing winner of the Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow Handicap Hurdle.
Having reached the frame in four subsequent outings since opening her account at Huntingdon in March, the daughter of Passing Glance finally added to that success with victory in the extended two-mile-five-furlong test.
Hitting the front before two out, Kitty’s Glance met the last on a good stride before pulling away under Tom Cannon up the run in to score by six and a half lengths.
Cannon said: “She has been very consistent. They went a nice even gallop, and she settled well and jumped well. She probably just had that fitness edge over the Paul Nicholls runner (Kilnew Supreme)
“She doesn’t do a whole lot on front, but she put it all in out there, and she clearly likes the track as she has run well around there before.
“That trip is probably about right for her, but she would probably be okay dropped back a furlong and I think she would get three miles in time.
“She is clearly going the right way.”
