Alan has enjoyed a memorable 2022 and he hopes to end it on a high, with two runners at Newbury and one at Warwick on New Year’s Eve.

Senior Citizen recaptured his best form in first time cheekpieces to win at Doncaster on Thursday, and Nina the Terrier has solid prospects of extending stable celebrations in the two and a half mile handicap hurdle at Newbury.

Alan said:”Nina the Terrier ran well for a long way in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham in November, and going back up in trip will suit her well. She ran a super race to finish second over this course and distance in April.”

Klitschko also runs at Newbury in the introductory hurdle. He pulled far too hard on his debut in a bumper at Huntingdon in the spring, yet it did not stop him winning. He was again far too keen when he returned there for his first hurdle race in November, so we are running him in a hood in an attempt to get him to relax.

Masaccio returns from a long break in the bumper at Warwick. He had decent bumper form two seasons ago, winning at Doncaster and then finishing second at Ayr. But last term he had a few niggles, though it was immaturity more than anything, and he is a big, strong horse who has benefited from the break.”
